For merchants and agencies running more than one store

Push a theme change once, into every store you run

Syncto links the Shopify stores you own, then copies selected theme files from a source theme into a target theme in each of them — and reads the files back afterwards to confirm they landed.

  • Whole theme, or just the files you tick
  • Snippets and sections a file depends on come with it
  • Every run verified against the target theme and recorded

Syncto does not have its own Shopify App Store listing yet — the link above goes to XCO's publisher page. Already installed? Use the log-in link in the footer.

Why

The same edit, three more times

Running more than one storefront means every theme change is a change you make again somewhere else.

You fix a section in one store, then reopen the code editor in the other two and retype it.

Tick the file once and push it to every linked store in the same run.

Exporting a theme and re-uploading it drags settings and templates you never meant to move.

Choose the exact files, and exclude patterns like assets/*.jpg keep the rest out.

A section copied across renders blank, because the snippet it calls stayed behind.

Syncto reads the Liquid and the JSON, and brings the snippets, sections and blocks it references along.

You paste files over and never really know whether the last few made it.

Each run is read back from the target theme, counted, and stored as success, partial or failed.

Features

What Syncto actually does

Two access scopes — read_themes and write_themes — and everything below is built on them.

Store links, approved from both ends

Enter the other store's myshopify domain, or paste its admin URL. The request stays pending until that store approves it from its own admin, and either side can revoke a link later and reconnect it.

Whole theme or a precise selection

Sync an entire theme, or open the file tree and pick individual files and folders. Exclude patterns with wildcards trim what you do not want out of either mode.

Dependencies travel with the file

Auto-detect reads section and render tags in Liquid, and section and block types in template JSON, then adds the snippets, sections and blocks a selected file needs. It is a checkbox, on by default.

Written in dependency order

Files go up as blocks, snippets, sections, templates, layout, config, locales, then assets — so a template never arrives before the section it renders.

Verified, not assumed

After each push Syncto fetches the files back from the target theme, reports how many of the expected files it found, and names the ones that are missing.

Several targets in one run

Select more than one linked store. Each gets its own theme choice, its own result, its own verification and a preview link to the theme it was written into. Free links one store and there is no paid tier to buy yet, so get in touch if you need several.

How it works

Four steps, then a verified result

1. Install Syncto on both stores

A link only exists between two stores that both have the app. The source store is the one you push from; the target store is the one you push into.

2. Send and approve a link request

From the source store, enter the other store's domain. The request lands in that store's admin as pending, and it becomes usable once that store approves it.

3. Pick the source theme and the files

Choose a theme, then either sync it whole or select files from the tree. Add exclude patterns, and leave dependency auto-detect on unless you know you want the file bare.

4. Choose targets, then sync

Point each linked store at an existing theme, or have Syncto create a new one there. It writes in order, verifies, and hands back a preview link and a history entry per store.

Who it is for

Where it earns its keep

Multi-store brands

Keep a header, a footer or a promo section identical across the storefronts you run, without rebuilding it in each admin.

Agencies and theme developers

Build a section in the store you develop in, then push it to the client stores that have linked back to you.

Regional storefronts

Move the structural files across your market stores while an exclude pattern leaves locales and market-specific templates where they are.

One store, two themes

A separate same-store wizard copies files from one theme to another inside a single store — no link needed, because nothing leaves the store.

Pricing

One plan, and it costs nothing

Syncto has no Shopify App Store listing yet, so there is no paid tier for Shopify to sell you — Free is the only plan a store can be on. It carries every feature on this page, within a cap of one other store linked to yours.

FAQ

Questions merchants actually ask

Is Syncto on the Shopify App Store?

Not yet. Syncto runs as an XCO app while its listing is being prepared, so the install links on this page go to XCO's publisher page on the App Store rather than to a Syncto listing. If Syncto is already installed on your store, use the log-in link in the footer.

What does Syncto cost?

Nothing, today. Shopify sells app plans off an App Store listing and Syncto does not have one yet, so Free is the only plan a store can be put on — there is no paid tier to subscribe to even if you wanted one. Free includes every feature described on this page; the single thing it caps is how many other stores you can link, which is one.

Does the other store need Syncto too?

Yes. A link is between two stores that have both installed it, and the store you want to push into has to approve the request from its own Shopify admin. That approval is what makes cross-store writing safe: Syncto re-checks the link is active at the moment of every sync, so revoking it in either store stops further pushes immediately.

What does it copy, and what does it leave alone?

Theme files (sections, snippets, blocks, templates, layout, config, locales and assets), and the products and collections you pick, with their variants, images and inventory. It asks for theme, product, inventory and location access and nothing else, so it cannot read customers or orders, and it only writes to a store whose admin approved the link.

Will it overwrite the live theme on the target store?

Only if you choose the live theme as the target. In the last step you can instead have Syncto create a new theme on the target store and sync into that, which leaves the published theme untouched until you publish the new one yourself.

How do I know every file arrived?

Syncto reads the files back out of the target theme after the push and compares them against what it sent. You get a verified-of-expected count per store, a named list of anything missing, and a history entry marked success, partial or failed with the full file list attached.

Can I undo a sync?

No. There is no rollback — Syncto writes the files you selected into the theme you chose. When you want a way back, sync into a new theme rather than over an existing one, or duplicate the target theme in Shopify first.

Stop rebuilding the same section twice

Link the stores you own, push the files rather than the whole theme, and get told which ones landed.
